Innovative pail by Impress with the "KlickSafe" closure has won one of the prestigious German Packaging Awards 2010. The award ceremony organised by the German Packaging Institute DVI, was held on Monday, 27 September at the Nürnberg exhibition centre. The very first award of the evening went to Impress, Seesen.
"KlickSafe" is a revolutionary system for opening and closing tinplate packaging, time and time again, without any additional aids. The lid construction combines metal and plastic, which are sealed together to guarantee an optimised opening and closing feature. "KlickSafe" avoids the need for expensive and tricky to open tension rings or closing strips. It is very safe and there is no risk of injury due to the very smooth edges of the opening feature.
"KlickSafe" was a winner amongst 276 submitted products from the whole packaging industry of which 48 were nominated for an award. Only 22 awards were distributed over a total of 7 categories. "KlickSafe" was nominated and received this prestigious award in the Sales Packaging category. Dr. Hans-Georg Hänsel of Group Nyphenburg, a consulting company for neuromarketing, explained in his presentation prior to the award ceremony that 70-80% of consumer decisions were made subconsciously and that packaging had to stimulate emotion to make it valuable.
John Martyn, Impress European Commercial and Business Development Manager for Paints and Coatings commented, “KlickSafe" responds perfectly to Dr. Hänsel´s theory. The pail looks trendy and modern, is easy to use and gives a reassuring "click" as it closes. We are very proud of this award.”
"KlickSafe" pails are available in different sizes ranging from 6 to 10 litres. They are suitable for a wide variety of products including paints and coatings and for other industrial applications such as vegetable oils for catering, dried pet foods or even storage of children’s toys e.g. building bricks.
