KFC TO ROLL OUT RE-USABLE, RE-CYCLABLE CONTAINERS‎

KFC, the chicken-based fast food chain goes green with an announcement to launch reusable food containers across its outlets located in the US by 2011. The food containers, which are used to pack side dishes like coleslaw, etc are soon to be rolled put in the US markets by next year.


The Greener Packaging Awards has recognized KFC’s efforts to contribute to the well-being of the ecology. KFC has definitely benefited from this business strategy as it will keep KFC’s innovations under the spotlight till the early next year. Moreover, the KFC is also planning to introduce a new sustainability plan to further channelize the green initiatives adopted by the brand.


KFC’s Senior Marketing Manager, Megan Isaac said, “We believe this is the first meaningful introduction of reusable food containers in the fast food industry. By the end of this year, KFC US will reduce total plastic use by 17%. We appreciate our customers' passion for doing their part to help us meet our 'Reuse, Renew, Rejoice' goals."


KFC’s green initiatives may be mirrored by many other food chains in order to increase their brand presence and popularity. Regardless of whichever company executes the green business plan, it will help reduce the increasing burden on the environmental systems, which extremely important for the time-being.
